What is the minimum number of people required to schedule a Catered Event at Ocean Breeze Waterpark?
The minimum number of people is 75 for both Catered Group Admission and Catered Meal Wristbands.
Is there a deposit required to reserve our event date?
Yes, a 25% deposit is due within seven (7) days of signing the Catered Outing Agreement. The deposit will be calculated using your anticipated attendance.
How far in advance does a catered reservation need to be made?
A catered reservation is based on availability and must be made at least 3 weeks in advance of the event date.
What is the admission tax?
Admission is charged a 10% City of Virginia Beach tax.
When must I select a menu for my group?
We ask that you select your menu upon signing the Outing Agreement. If you are unable to choose a menu upon signing the agreement, Ocean Breeze Waterpark must receive your menu selection in writing mail three (3) weeks prior to your event date.
What food is served on the buffet?
The traditional buffet includes Hamburgers with cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles, Hot Dogs with chili & cheese, potato chips, watermelon, cookies and soft drinks. Discuss additional meal items with your Group Coordinator.
What is the food tax?
Food & Beverage is charge a 6% City of Virginia Beach tax and a 6% State of Virginia tax.
How long will the catered meal be served?
Food will be served buffet-style for one hour. Serving times may vary by group size. Your meal time will be communicated on your Outing Agreement.
Who needs a Catered Meal Wristband?
Anyone entering the dining pavilion must present a meal wristband. Children aged two (2) and under are FREE and do not require a meal wristband or waterpark admission ticket.
Are guests allowed to re-enter the dining pavilion once they leave?
Yes, guests are allowed to re-enter the pavilion during the group’s predetermined catering time.
Are food and beverages allowed to be taken out of the catering pavilion?
No, food and beverages must be kept in the catering pavilion. Any remaining food items cannot be removed from the picnic area.
Is there a group discount for souvenir cups?
Yes, groups can purchase a minimum of 15 souvenir cups at $12.99 per cup and will receive free fountain soft drink refills the entire day of your event.
Can our guests refill souvenir cups?
Yes, guests can refill souvenir cups at the soda station during the designated buffet meal time.
Can we add on alcoholic drink tickets?
Yes, alcoholic drink options are available for group purchase. Connect with your Group Coordinator for full details.
Can my organization bring in items/merchandise to be distributed in the dining pavilion?
If your organization wishes to bring in items/merchandise for distribution, you must request approval by your Ocean Breeze Waterpark Sales Representative prior to your outing.
How does the meal guarantee work?
A final meal guarantee is required seven (7) days prior to your catered outing date. The meal guarantee can be emailed to your Group Coordinator. Failure to communicate this meal guarantee to Ocean Breeze Waterpark will result in the number of tickets issued being used as the meal guarantee. Your organization will be responsible for paying for the number of tickets issued or the number of meals guaranteed, whichever is greater.
When is the final payment required for our event?
Final payment for the event is due on or before the day of your event and based on the number of tickets not returned or the number of meals guaranteed, whichever is greater.
Are Season Passes accepted at our event?
Season Passes can be used for admission to Ocean Breeze Waterpark; however, a meal wristband must be purchased in order for the Season Passholder to enter the Dining Pavilion.
Can my group distribute tickets at the front gate?
No, groups are not allowed to distribute tickets at the front gate. All tickets must be distributed prior to the guest’s arrival at the park.
When will I receive my tickets?
Admission tickets and meal wristbands will be shipped to the group contact at least 2 weeks in advance of the event date to distribute to guests prior to arriving to the park.
Do we have a reserved area for the day?
The dining pavilion is only reserved for your group during your designated meal time. You can purchase a Cabana Block to have a reserved area for the day. Contact your Group Coordinator for full details.
Does my group qualify for tax exemption?
Depending on the type of organization you may qualify for tax exemption. You must submit your tax exemption certificate to [email protected] to verify exemption status prior to making any payments.
How will my guests know when our meal time is?
It is the responsibility of the group leader to communicate the meal time to your guests. Signage is placed at the dining pavilion.
